Jobs
Hand Hubi a job and it runs in a Slack channel on autopilot.
Jobs
A Job is a task you hand to Hubi. Each Job gets its own Slack channel and, once set up, runs on autopilot - Hubi shows up in that channel like a teammate dedicated to one thing: your social media, your SEO, your support triage, whatever you need.
Jobs live in your Brain. Open the dashboard and go to the Jobs tab, or find them in the Brain home under Active and Needs setup.
You may still see Jobs labeled "Playbooks" in a few screens - they are the same thing.
Create a Job
- On the home dashboard, open the Jobs tab.
- In the box that asks "What job should Hubi take care of? Describe it and Hubi sets it up," describe the outcome you want - for example, "Draft and schedule our weekly LinkedIn posts."
- Hubi drafts the Job for you: a title, a Slack channel name, a Brain folder, any integrations it will need, and a starter skill with instructions.
- Review and tweak the draft, then submit. Hubi creates the folder and the Job appears in your list with its setup checklist.
Set It Up
A Job is a short checklist. Most steps tick themselves off the moment the real thing exists - you do not mark them done by hand. A typical Job includes:
- Connect Slack - done automatically once your workspace has Slack connected.
- Pick a channel - choose the Slack channel Hubi will work in. This unlocks the rest of the steps, so do it first. Remember to invite @Hubi to that channel in Slack.
- Create a Brain folder - one click creates the folder that holds this Job's context.
- Connect integrations - link any apps the Job needs (Google, HubSpot, Shopify, and so on).
- Add a skill - give Hubi its instructions, either by chatting it through or building one in the Skill Gym. See Skills.
- Test it - say hello to Hubi in the channel to confirm it responds, then mark this step done.
- Set up automation - paste the suggested message into the channel to put recurring work on a schedule. See Automations.
Not every Job has every step, and steps that do not apply can be marked "not relevant."
Active vs. Needs Setup
- Needs setup - the Job still has open steps. Open it and finish them.
- Active - every step is done and Hubi is running the Job on its own.
The Brain home shows a progress summary so you can see at a glance how many of your Jobs are live.
Where Jobs Run
- Web dashboard - create and manage Jobs from the Brain.
- Shopify admin - merchants can run Jobs without leaving Shopify. See Shopify.
